Eligible students can apply for an Opal card which gives free or discounted travel between home and school.
Students need to live a minimum distance from their school.
- Kindergarten to Year 2 – no minimum distance
- Years 3 to Year 6 – 1.6km straight line distance or 2.3km walking
Student need to carry their Opal card with them and tap on and off each journey.
Application forms can be found on the Transport NSW website. The Opal card will be sent to the home address on the application form. The school Opal card is only for travel to and from school.
Route information, bus numbers and bus stops can also be found online.
Parents and students need to advise the classroom teacher that their child will be catching the bus. An Epping West staff member will put students on the bus each afternoon. The bus leaves promptly at 3:15pm each afternoon. It is advisable that Kindergarten to Year 2 students have someone meeting them at the home stop in the afternoons. Parents please discuss bus etiquette and road safety with your children if they are using this service for safety reasons.
