Co-curricular activities

At Epping West we offer many extra-curricular programs for our students to enrich their learning experiences.

We have a wide range of programs for the variety of students attending our school. Some of the activities are: school band, strings group, choir for upper primary, multicultural public speaking and many more.

Epping West Public School Strings Program

The Epping West Public School Strings Program is run by the Epping West Public School Strings Committee, a sub-committee of the Epping West Public School P&C Association. The Strings Program is parent run with generous support from the School and in particular, the Music Department.

Our aim is to provide a fun and holistic strings experience for the participating students. We hope that students develop self confidence and a sense of belonging to the School through participating in the Strings Program. Over the years, the Strings Program has become part of the rich Creative and Performing Arts culture at the School.

There are a number of string ensembles within the Strings Program to match the skill and experience of the students. In some years, beginner group classes are also run.

Weekly ensemble rehearsals combined with weekly one-on-one private tuition allow students to learn how to play ensemble repertoire, learn new techniques not found in solo work and develop better sight reading skills. Our ensembles also enjoy performance opportunities both within and outside the School.

If a student is interested in joining a string ensemble or you would like more information about the Strings Program, please click here. You can also contact the Epping West Public Strings Committee by sending an email to strings@ewpspnc.onmicrosoft.com
