In my letter last week, I advised you that the Government has a plan to return students to school in a managed way.
This means that from Monday May 11th schools are organising for students to come to school ONE day each week.
I have attached the current Government managed return to school plan.
At Epping West we looked at a number of ways we could organise this: using sport houses, sibling groups or an alphabetical sort of the whole school.
Finally we came to the conclusion that what was important for the children was to meet up with their class teacher and socialise with their friends in the class and across the grade.
Our plan is now for a WHOLE GRADE to come on the same day and be with their class teacher and other support teachers so a group around 10 is formed. Students will have a session with both their class and support teachers. We are planning the activities to be part of the single unit of workbut allow for more “hands on” than might be possible at home.
It will be a day of no devices.
Schedule:
MONDAY: Year 2 and Year 4
TUESDAY: Year 1 and Year 3
WEDNESDAY: Year 5 and Year 6
THURSDAY: Kindergarten
FRIDAY: No students at school. Teacher planning and catch up with class students.
School continues to be open for families of essential service workers who need to come. These students continue to work on their packages at school supported by a teacher.
Contact the Wesley OOSH at oosh@wesleymission.org.au for further information about their service.
Yummy Bears Kiosk our school canteen will operate with an adjusted menu. Lunches must be ordered through Flexischools ONLY. There will be no counter sales at this stage.
Kind Regards
